About Tutor Ricardo
Ricardo Steyer is a Brazilian artist, guitarist and singer with over 25 years of
experience playing music and a passion for the learning path. As a versatile
musician he started his journey playing rock, pop-rock, blues and reggae
repertoires, then more recently has been focusing on jazz, soul & Brazilian
rhythms like Choro, Samba, MPB and Bossa Nova. Ricardo has been playing
professionally since 2006 and has performed in some of the most prestigious
venues in Australia. The two main projects that he has regular gigs with these
days are Beliza, a 9-piece Brazilian funk/rock/samba ensemble and Trio
Teleboteco, a contemporary choro trio that offers very intimate performances.
For Ricardo the role of a music & guitar tutor is to explore the creativity within
the student, to develop personal confidence and the set of skills necessary to
master a musical instrument, and to engage the studies with excitement, fun
and an achievement plan. Each student gets a tailored program based on their
experience and goals, going through exercising, general understanding of
theory & how to apply that into practice and development of repertoire.
Ricardo is a very experienced musician and possesses a solid knowledge of
string instruments (acoustic, electric & classical guitar) and bass, and with him
you can learn & develop not only these instruments, but also singing, music
theory and harmony.
Ricardo provides guitar lessons in South Sydney, the Inner West and Sydney CBD including:
- Rockdale
- Hurstville
- Newtown
