About Matt
Meet Matt, a talented multi-instrumentalist and producer based on Gadigal land. He started playing the drums at age 11 and has since expanded his skills to include guitar, bass and keyboard.
Matt’s first drum tutor instilled in him the importance of feeling the groove before overly focusing on technical ability, and he incorporates this philosophy into his own teaching. He also understands that the drums are a supportive instrument and brings a bass or guitar to drum lessons to create an environment for playing and jamming together.
In addition to his instrumental skills, Matt is also an experienced music producer. He began using Ableton Live in high school and went on to study a Bachelor of Music in Digital Music and Media at the Conservatorium of Music, where he refined his production, recording and mixing skills. He also undertook jazz piano studies, which helped his keyboard playing and music theory knowledge.
Matt draws inspiration from a wide range of musical styles, from Pop to Rock, Jazz to RnB, and Classical music to everything Electronic. He appreciates all forms of music and aims to create a relaxed and supportive atmosphere in his lessons. Patient, encouraging and always willing to go the extra mile to help his students, Matt is here to help others discover their own musical abilities and achieve their goals.
Matt provides guitar, bass, drums and production lessons on the Lower North Shore and Inner West including the following suburbs:
- Petersham
