Josie

Josie is a passionate, hard-working musician and teacher. She has been playing piano since age 7, singing since age 12, and writing music since age 12. She also played trumpet, guitar and timpani in ensembles growing up, making her a well-rounded musician. Josie has recently graduated from the Sydney Conservatorium of Music where she studied a Bachelor of Music Composition. During this degree, Josie composed primarily choral and chamber works. Her composition ‘Archipelago’ for chamber orchestra which was selected and premiered by the Conservatorium Modern Music Ensemble in 2019. During the degree Josie developed an interest in electroacoustic composition and frequently uses Logic Pro X to record and produce music. She also performs as both a pianist and vocalist in bands around Sydney.

Josie has been sharing her passion and knowledge by teaching others for 5 years. She teaches piano, composition, music theory and voice. She is passionate about making lessons fun and enjoyable for all students.
