About Tutor Ben H
Ben teaches students ranging from beginners to Grade 6 students. Ben has nine years of continuous piano teaching experience and as such has a variety of ways to teach students with a wide range of personalities. He prepares concerts for his students, so they gain valuable experience performing.
Ben plays at Bread of Life Church every Sunday. During AMEB exam periods he accompanies numerous students on the piano for their exams. Ben also plays at gigs and because of his unique mixture of compositional and classical background is quite flexible in being able to play what’s asked of him. Often, Ben can play challenging piano pieces and will release recordings for people to listen to. In 2020, Ben performed a concert called Creations, which was composed of nine pieces which he composed and performed himself.
Ben has a BMus from the Sydney Conservatorium of Music majoring in Composition. He did his AMusA in piano in 2013.
Ben provides piano, music theory and composition lessons from his home studio in Turramurra and travels between suburbs in the North Shore and Ryde including:
- Hornsby
- Epping
- Macquarie
- Pymble
- Lindfield
