Group Music Lessons
In addition to private lessons, Guitar Tutor Commuter also offers group music classes to beginners and students who simply want to learn some more music skills by taking short courses. Learning to play music in a group presents some exciting opportunities, which can inspire students to practice more than ever. We have a number of group classes that are held online on a weekly basis; however, for students in Sydney, we also hold small group classes face to face as part of our rock band and school programs. These are among the best group music classes Sydney has to offer, whilst remaining the most affordable and personable.
We don’t offer free trial lessons because we know you will find great value from our lessons right from the first day of music classes. Instead we offer packages that involve three introductory music lessons at a discounted rate. They are typically spread across three weeks; the perfect amount of time to get into the swing of regular practice and find out what it takes to learn your chosen instrument. This is a great way of setting the tone for future lessons. You will have a better idea of whether the instrument and lesson format you have chosen is right for you. The packages are suitable for any age group, skill or grade level. They can be 30, 45 or 60 minutes in duration. You can add guitar hire to your package for a slight additional fee if you don’t already have an instrument.

Online Musicianship Courses
These group music classes are the perfect introduction to harmony, rhythm and ear training and are organised by age and experience level. If you are a beginner you will learn how to read music, apply chord and scale theory to your chosen instrument, develop basic aural skills for a better musical ear and begin diving into the fascinating world of rhythm! The classes are heaps of fun and there is no prior knowledge needed. The online lesson format over Zoom presents an exciting new way of learning music. The course is made up of 10 weekly 60 minute lessons, which include 9 hours of invaluable content, quiz grading, ongoing feedback as well as a 1 on 1 feedback session in the final class.
Rock Band Classes
For our exciting Rock Band group lessons, students are organised into groups of 3-5 musicians to rock out! We commonly have guitar, bass, drums, piano and voice students; however, the program is also open to more instruments and different combinations. Times and locations are dependent on all of the students in the band so please contact us now so we can start getting the band together! Students will learn how to listen to each other and play in time together. They will also receive some tips on their specific instrument, however we highly recommend that rock band students also enrol in private lessons to get the most out of these sessions.
